Enrolments

Enrolling now for 2018

Enrolment form available here.

St Matthew's Page, as part of the Archdiocese of Canberra Goulburn, works within the Enrolment Policy developed by Catholic Education. Click here to see the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Catholic Schools Enrolment package and enrolment information.

During the enrolment period each year, the school offers guided tours and time to meet the Principal. At this time enrolment packages are available. This package includes an enrolment form and a St Matthew’s Information Book. The enrolment forms should be completed and returned promptly to school with requested documentation. Upon lodgement of your enrolment form, a non-refundable fee of $25 is payable to the school.

After the form has been received all parents are requested to meet with the Principal or her representative. At this interview, parents have further opportunity to ask questions and inform the school about the needs of the child. It is important that there is an open sharing of information so we can work in partnership to effectively educate and support each child.

St Matthew's is committed to keeping class sizes within the guidelines set by the Catholic Education Commission. Children wishing to enrol in classes which already exceed this number of students may be placed on a waiting list and may be offered a place when one becomes available. We follow the enrolment policy of Catholic Education in processing enrolments. If there are fewer places than the demand in any year the following priorities will apply:

  1. Baptised Catholic children who are members of the St Matthew’s Parish.
  2. Siblings of children already attending St Matthew’s.
  3. Baptised Catholic children from other parishes who cannot obtain places in their local parish primary school.
  4. Baptised Catholic children from non-Catholic primary schools whose residential address is in the designated priority local parish community.
  5. Baptised Catholic children whose parents/guardians seek to enrol them in a parish primary school outside their own parish but who can obtain places in their own parish primary school.
  6. Other children whose parents/guardians desire and are committed to a Catholic Education.

Families moving into the area are able to apply for enrolment at the time of moving and may contact the school to request forms to be forwarded to them. An interview and tour of the school will be arranged.
